THE TREE

The tree had been standing for generations
Had been a giver all of the trees life
Dad had hung swings from it's bows
Lovers had consummated their love under the tree
Autumn gathered in the fruits given to them from blessed tree
Has a wedded couple gathered wood fuel for the winter
Homes built almost all around the tree
Then the great tree time were dune - the tree gave way to a mighty wind
Creaked gave a last moan - then toppled - crashed - to the ground
The tree were sawed up taken of for fuel
Parts of the tree sward up into planks for flooring - other parts for furnisha
By carpenters of note
A sculpture tacks lager parts - then carves wonderful works
Another tacks small peaces carves wooden toys for children
What is left rots away providing nourishment for future life in all forms
The tree a major part in cycle of life
