last night we sat side by side 

on the sofa

feet up on well-disguised boxes

which we use for a coffee table

laptops

appropriately   on our laps   going over finances

sigh   it's hard to get ahead   but marketa

says to think of it

as a community   we each do our share   we work

we get paid   and from that we return

part of it

to the shopkeepers and our landlord

who provide services   in turn   for us

part to the government   and   yes   they will use it badly   

but not entirely

and what is left is ours   and somehow it is enough   because   

here we are   

sheltered   clothed   and fed    maybe even overfed

is that a resolution i feel coming on
