April Fools' Day, 2020
Let us raise our glasses and be jollyIn our hidey holes. It's April Fools',
But what is this? A virus sweeps across
The planet. Thousands die, and millions
May, and half of us have lost our jobs.
What next, our homes, our childrens'
Lives? The word of those still working,
Clueless bastards, queried on TV,
Is that they have a plan to save us.
We shall see. They'd better hurry.
Landlords knock and stores are empty.
We watch neighbors wheeled away.
We raise our glasses, far from filled,
Toast each other, then we drink. It's
April Fools'. Let's have one laugh
Before we start to cry.
