The challenge was to write a Ghazal but I played with the rules and came up with this fun piece.

Fitspo

Woke up at 6, even though it's Sunday

Fit bit says it's must-go-for-a-run day.

With earphones in, I jog around the park,

Following Nikes I'll afford one day.

Picking up pace, I trip over a stump

My knee’s bruised, oh! what a fun day!

Quick shower, band-aids, and my go-to day dress

Salad for brunch on girls-just-wanna-have-fun day

Cheers! YOLO! shot! shot! shot!

‘But Annica, you still weigh a ton, dear’

Late April, and the late George Harrison
Tells me it's a Here Comes The Sun day.

A bit too early for summer barbeques:
Not a hot dog and hamburger bun day!

Did I just see Sally Field in a wimple?
Yes, it happens to be a Flying Nun day!

Please forgive these grim barbaric rhymes:
You'd think it was an Attila the Hun day.

Or a day of intergalactic battles:
Warriors, set your phasers to stun (hey!).

Shall I end with "May the 4th be with you?"
My Star Wars greeting will wait till Monday!
