My month at home is over and it's time to leave.

Everybody Leaves

Everyone leaves

Maybe I should too

But not with you.

Everyone leaves

Maybe I should stop them

It's not like I have the power to.

Everyone leaves

Maybe they're meant to

Maybe there's more to come.

Don't leave.

Don't go.

It's selfish of me to say

But I want you to stay.

Everyone leaves

And it's going to be okay.

Hi..nicely penned, I like the way you have chosen rhyming words and also the way they have held the subtle meaning of the poem. You have expressed your thoughts in a lyrical way. All the best.

I love the way the tone of the poem swings from pessimistic to defeated to cautiously optimistic.

I like the inevitability of "Everyone leaves," and I the last line of optimism, both seem true. Well expressed, the flow of thoughts.
