weekends at the vineyard meant   in part

getting away from the city

the pressure of constant interaction

its numbing effects

it was nice having space   and air to breathe

in a bucolic   rural setting

it's been five months   five months

of device-oriented confinement

not unpleasant   certainly not

an excess of people within these four walls

i guess i'm a little lonely   i find myself

chatting with my shadow on my morning run

airing thoughts   mollifying anxiety

it is a one-sided conversation

but it is something   if not someone

with a physical   though ever-changing    presence

Exactly my (and many other's) feeling right now. It's surely been a "five months of device-oriented confinement." Your poem has captured the spirit, the real zeitgeist of the year 2020, in its bare essence.
