Autumn (Co-Write Thomas D & F.i.in.e Moods)
a joy fills our hearts
upon sight of fire tones
settling around us
red leaves blaze, will blaze redder:
daylight shrinks into itself
i, for one, rejoice
at this slow approach to frost:
pumpkins on the porch
on its way: All Hallow's Eve;
children: happy and giddy
perhaps snow will make
a glorious spectacle
as entrance that day
we look forward to flurries,
we look forward to the cold:
first, autumn's wild lush
eye-feast: harvest of colours,
palette of ripe fruit
we get ready to enjoy
warm pumpkin, and apple, pies
then, we'll pile the leaves,
make mounds to jump in feet first:
pirouettes and laughs
cider-and-sweater weather
makes heat-weary hearts rejoice
