Sitting by the fire as memories of childhood christmases crowd in wonderful random fashion. A joyful colidescope of colour sound and sight!

Flashes of Christmas Memories

Red green and gold

colours of Christmas

memories behold

children's mass

Crimsoned drapes

of tissued paper

Bells and snowflakes

chandelier to corner

Verdant polish prickly handled

holly sporting berries bright

red in clusters on the mantle

starry eyed this magic night

Golden tinsel sparkle shine

whirling as distant fanily rushes

breezing in with Yuletide wine

flurried kisses cold cheek touches

Thus is a child's memory drawn

at seventy five years awaiting dawn

What happened to tinsel? I recall this sugared almonds and midnight singers at the door and polished marble in the hall that we used to spin on. Lovely memories, though very poignant this year - my grandson is too young being a pandemic baby so won't have this year as a memory but I hope he has many others that will keep him warm throughout his life.

Happy Christmas

Very nice. It's delightfully impressionistic.

Dear josephus,

This Christmas gem has lit up my dim day! I think it deserves to be set to music and sung as a modern carol.

After three, dear friend...

Cheers,

Chris
