Some sad thoughts on the current reality

Lost Utopia

A cloying sadness achingly pervades

Once more the world is tethered to

A scene of tragic consequence

The players in extemporaneous

Brazen monologues shout

Calls that  loose heinous

Creatures bent on mindless chaos

In the name of visions long lost

To yesterday’s dreams of a

Utopia that never was

Such sadness would be heroic

If only it were noble but it is

Tawdry for it is indelibly stained

Deluged in lies and calumny

a stock In trade of him

who would be king

But is in fact a con.

I cherish the directness of the last few lines, especially.
