I'm always amazed at the strength and hardiness of crocuse. They poke through snow and cold blossoming almost in mid winter if given half a chance with mild spells of weather

Crocus

Bending down  more difficult now

i spy a hearty bit of green

on my meander through the yard

this afternoon of pseudo spring

gardens  banked with compost now

offering little  in terms of life

at this season of hibernation

summer promise is still asleep

save one small spark of vivid green

poking through dark fibrous soil

exultant in it quest for light

its struggle for the sun complete

I love seeing the crocuses and forsythias, all of the early birds. None is yet in sight here, but your poem was a treat.

Bending down is becoming an issue!

Our crocuses are appearing too, just a tiny peeking out. Also, a few silly dandelions.

Well expressed, Joe.
