The garden earth is grey dust dry

Shot through with streaks of charcoal

Black where winter snows have wet

In melting as their signature exit

Call to spring and life returning


Seeds have slumbered roots 

Have rested bulbs awaken

Natures pulse begins to quicken

As sun and lengthening days

Catalyze the process of
