Princess Sazzette by Ann Wood

Once upon a time, a little Princess Sazzette loved to ride horses.
One day she went for a ride with her courtiers in the nearby forest.
In the forest lived an old herbalist who helped sick people from nearby villages.
Sazzette stopped to visit the older woman and bring her fresh fruit and vegetables, and meat.
Along the way, she picked wildflowers and herbs and gave them to the older woman.
The older woman was delighted with the gifts and the food.
And to thank her, she made an ointment for the sick father of the princess.
Sazzette thanked the older woman and left for the kingdom.
On the way, she was overtaken by bandits and attacked by Sazzette's group.
During this time, the shaman of the White Bull Indian tribe passed by and saved the princess and the courtiers from the bandits.
Sazzette thanked the shaman for his help and invited him to go with her to the palace.
As soon as they entered the royal court, she sent for her father.
The king went out to meet his daughter and ordered the shaman to be invited to the guest room.
Sazzette told the king what had happened in the forest and how WhiteBull had saved her from the bandits.
The king thanked the shaman and rewarded him for his good deed.
WhiteBull thanked and handed over the captured bandits to the royal wars.
The king ordered that they be beheaded for attacking his beloved daughter.
From that day on, Princess Sazzette always went out on horseback with a guard.
