Alienation
I have been one thousand places, many beautiful. In them, I've said, “I wish that I could settle here,
And stay.” I haven't. I've come home to this old,
Colonnaded house, the lawn, secluded by its hedges,
That great valley back, behind, and, there, I've
Squirmed, some sort of seed which falls to earth,
But cannot root, and said aloud, ridiculously,
“I wish I was here.”
