A Day Without The Net

A day without the net

Swing high without regard

Knowing a fall would count

As at least a kneecap scarred

Cliff climb without the rope

Swim alone without the guard

Knowing one false move

Would end in fatal reward

Challenge death and win

In feats of daring do

Do them with a grin

give random chance it’s due

The cadence draws me in, and the words by their meaning and music keep me in!

Lovely. And fundamentally true. Age is the time to be who you are without apology. And that is risky. But wonderfully freeing. Thank you.

Agreed! To a large degree, aging is the process of learning too much, anticipating too much, and, as a result, becoming depressingly risk averse. Your prescription helps to counter this.
