unexpected rebate

Inland revenue rebate

This morning a letter fell through the letter box.
Falling on the floor.
It must have been the postman,
That delivered it though the door.

Rebate stamped on the letter,
That I had not read.
Wondering how much,
Went straight to my thoughtful head.

Money that they sent,
Was sure to be most excellence.
Being able to buy the things she wants,
Sparing no expense.

Saying she could spend it I didn't want any.
She opened the rebate franticly.
Inside it said to the bearer,
one penny.
