They skip across the eager keys,
The fingers flitting where they will
And drawing forth new melodies.
In contrast stark, the weighty brain
Seems numb to ev’ry gay refrain;
Withdrawn from skill, unmoved by song,
Obdurately it chugs along.

Stoic at the Piano
Adroit the hands; pronounced their skill!They skip across the eager keys,
The fingers flitting where they will
