This piece materialized as a meditation in the gaba/melatonin haze that is habitually entered each evening prior to sleep, often there are dreams in which a shadowy {Her} visits him in abstract , atmospheric symbol facades.

Darkness Bride

The air was damp and dark in the train station
A huge clock on the wall with a Roman moon face
Cast shadows like ancient ruins across the beach like floors
Rolling waves of sounds echoing distant swells of Night
A slight figure clothed in fashion of an earlier era standing motionless
Appears to imply the words that type themselves into your brain

But it's only that the hour of Sleep approaches
Once again bringing her~ bride to consumate your dreams~

I seem to be following Jim's route through today's texts, and he is beating me to appraise. Ethereal women indeed.
Does she come as a muse or a temptress? I can see your bride standing there, on a moonlit beach, an ethereal image from a bygone age, returning to haunt each of us in various ways. We each knew her at a different time I feel.
All the above a vain attempt to put into words how your poem changed me by simply reading it. Great stuff.

Shades of Keats La Belle Dame sans Merci, and Wilkie Collins, too. Ethereal women.
