Cold She Knew

She was born into the cold she knew
No gentle guardian angels were receiving
Her hands were small in a world too big and mean to feel,
Secrets crawled to whispers
In the shadows of her soul,

"There is no good there is no evil
No gods or devils to tie your shoes or fate,"

She wore beauty the same as saints wore hideous truths
Naked sleeves of flesh
Worn out words of breath mistaken
The ones who took her trust
Were the same that stole her heart,

No gods or devils to tie your shoes or fate
There is no good there is no evil,

In the shadows of her soul
Secrets crawled to whispers
Her hands were small in a world too big and mean to feel
No gentle guardian angels were receiving
She was born into the cold she knew;
