At the Pond

The movie ran long, two-plus hours,

And the time, as I sat, passed slowly,

The action was minimal, infrequent,

Verging on boring, yet, it was subtle,

Holding my attention effortlessly.

The cast did well, no one star shone,

No one clamored for attention.

It was an ensemble piece, throw in

All the players and see what happens.

It ended somewhat unresolved, left me

Wanting more, not a bad thing at all.

It is a movie I see most days, today

Being not out of the ordinary, in fact,

Quite ordinary, almost like life itself.
