A feline experience!?
I purr and scratch the roof tiles with the ground so aloof
My fur is all covered in dirt and with moss
My legs all bruised and all cold from the frost
Another night on the tiles I am worn out entirley
Such a life I lead - apparently so - "it's the life of Riley"
Can't wait to be let in when her indoors awakes
But when she sees me in this state, it will raise the stakes!
Well what am I supposed to do when I am left out all night?
Well,... do stupid things - ....like get involved in a fight?
As I curl up to the Chimney breast to try feel some of it's heat
I just feel the stack wobble - quick better get to my feet!
My vision's all blurry as I look to the ground
Must be a good 20 feet drop but I've 9 lives and I am so fat and so round.
I need to get my fur cleaned so it looks all spic and all span
I won't be too poular with the drycleaning man
Then as it strikes me I say to myself "STROOF !!!!"
How the Hell did I get up on this bloody high roof?
I only had 8 pints and a few rum and cokes down the pub,
now this fur coat is a mess and I'll need a long stretch in the tub!
Well that's the last time I go out with guys from work,
they have dumped me up here and now I feel like a jerk!
Oh as the sun comes up my situation gets madder and madder
marrooned 20 feet up without even the use of a ladder?
Well I guess I will sit her all frozen and glum
It won't be long till the firebrigade come.
oh well this is a story to tell perhaps with a moral
a night out with too much drink often ends up with a fight or a quarrel
But the true moral is for all those who are silly and who thought I was a cat,
never assume and jump to conclusions ..............
or you might end up like me ....... feeling maybe a bit of a pratt!
