Its season deep in winter

Deep in winter

I drove on the highway
In an afternoon
Where sun was frozen
Fog played over fields
The eagles flew in aerie
For by the night skies froze
The lone Star was shining
Above the horizon
I opened my window
Insect of fall is left behind
Didn't they fly away with others
Or were you left to die
Ye would've to survive winter
Ye seem cold and weak
I wish I could see you spring

"i wish i could see you spring." Thats your gasp through the wasp. I could relate it so much. Also, the lone star is Saturn.

Thanks my dear friends for taking time to read and appreciate my humble works, it's really fortunate that if my work is illuminating and may be the lone Star might have been a satellite 😊but it still loves me!

Lovely poem.

I suspect the "lone Star" was the Blue Walker 3 satellite, which has ruined the night sky for star-gazers.

The story of this is repeating itself in my life, with insects that hide away over winter. Your poem is remarkably 'observant' and your descriptions are really illuminating such that I might be with you in your car on that journey.
