I sat by the lake with receding water , it was an afternoon in December

Still water

I sat on the stone stairs
The lake has retreated
Fog flows over the surface
Wild ducks swim away
The white small birds
Chirp there at its banks
The grass has gone brown
The cedars stand silent for
Snow to fall and fill the land
I drove in evening
An eagle sat on a lonely tree
Let me stay away
Don't want to meet
Why should I?
You have gossips to say
And poker faces to hide behind
Friendships aren't real anymore
As we were in school.
