I was challenged to pick up the nearest book and use word 6 from the 6th page and word 9 from the 9th page. I got lucky! The words were ‘and’ and ‘it’s’


Sadness

It’s not unusual to be sad
Sadness is normal

It’s of this world and of yourself
It doesn’t belong to you and yet
Your sadness is yours
Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not good enough
You can be as sad as you please!

And on days when it gets unbearable
Make friends with sadness
Make friends who hold your sadness
Cut friends who cause sadness
Acknowledge that you’ve caused sadness

Is it more contagious than happiness?
I guess not.
Is it heavier to hide?
Of course it is!
So frown
and groan
and cry
and don’t let anyone tell you you’re doing it wrong.
