I can’t be myself

I can’t be myself around you
Cos who I am is someone who loves you
someone who loves you so completely
in ways you’re afraid to love yourself

I want you
I want you
I want you
to let me in

Let me lick
the insides of you
savouring every curve
and every sinew
every nerve
until we renew
the very urge
to have you near me
the very real
and very weary
little voice
that wants to tell me

You need me
you need me
you need me
to let go of being needy
to step down from being greedy
to say goodbye
without teary
little sighs
in the heart of
the hairy chest
the broad shoulders
the cheeky smile
the hidden dimple

I’m not here
when you call me
I can’t be myself around you

A very powerful poem, this. Hammering home, with successful repeats, your need and desires of the relationship. Like I say, powerful. Nothing is perfect, sadly, but communication is always on the right road. Blessings, Allen
