What's this? A court in France has ruled that someone guilty
Of corruption cannot run for president. In our grim land
Of "rules-based order," no one stopped the man who was
The leader of an insurrection from campaigning,
And, of course, the criminal has won.

There's also an ex French president who was sentenced to 3 years jail this week. Apparently his appeal will probably drag on for maybe even years - during which time he will be free - they say he is the first former French president to receive a custodial sentence. It happens!
