Cinco de Mayo

It's Cinco de Mayo, a Mexican holiday actual Mexicans don't
Observe, and they shouldn't. It marks their victory over
The French, but the French soon regrouped, and, afterward,
Won the war. The holiday's hyped in the U.S. by breweries,
Which use it to stimulate sales of beer. I stayed at home.
I drank vodka, not beer, and made some fajitas. I bear
Some ill will toward industrial breweries, but none toward
The Mexicans or the French. Familiar with battles which
Finish as victories only to be overturned in wars, I am keen,
Sometimes, to find something to celebrate. Cinco de Mayo
Will work. Anyway, the drinks and fajitas were good.
