A Brief, Banal Exchange

"Things could be worse," he chirps. Not very comforting;
Also, he's wrong. Things are exactly as they must be,
Given causality's iron grip. Choices aren't real. They are
Symptoms of ignorance. I smile back at him as I reply,
"Likewise, they cannot be better."

so you see people as pawns on a chessboard, they don't decide themselves or are we part of a mechanical system inside a universal clock ?

I believe in free will but I believe also that there are disproportionate scales of power in this world

I feel without freedom
when
a) I am ill
b) when the country I live in in a totalitarian country
