A Republic's Quality is Determined by its Participants

Swept away by floods because sufficient warning wasn't given,
Killed by a disease a common vaccine would have warded off,
Injured by pollution or an accident at work, or something toxic
In your vegetables. You have no health insurance, and you
Can't afford new clothes or food. Is this what you were hoping
For when you put that man into office, or were you too lazy
To learn what he planned to do?
