What the Democrats are Saying

It hurdles downward, deadly ball
Of filth. An avalanche, it can't be
Stopped. You're doomed if you
Stand in its way. Nobody else will
Stand by you. In whispers, they may
Say that they believe that things have
Gone too far, but, forced to choose
Between the xenophobes, the racists,
And the endless lines of goons who
"Preserve order," and the immigrants,
And blacks, and female fetus killers,
Your supposed allies turn their backs
And slowly slip away. They think
The avalanche, though messy, isn't all
That bad.

Your poem postulates a state of being that is so typical (it seems to me) of people's thinking in this present time. Perhaps social media has led to this state where everything, every thought, is like a knee-jerk reaction rather than an educated, thought-through, game of chess. The ramifications of not seeing the depths to which something can sink is possibly the way homo sapiens create a hell on earth and finally cleanse the planet of themselves. Blessings, Allen

and a snowball that rolls gets bigger
there is a saying that says in French
pierre qui roule n'amasse pas mousse
something like a stone that rolls doesn't add grass moss to it
something lightly different
