A New Dawn

The sun rose heavily, extinguishing all darkness,
a muffled scream deep down my chest.

Fragility inhabits where dreams forge,
A beating drum is roaring in the skies.

Pounding of the soul, like hail in a storm,
wax figures, a still life.

Raw flesh and
Sea salt,

Lost in your beauty,

I am nothing more than,
a forest in the twilight
longing to be illuminated by
your moon.

I want to give up,
I will give in,
Time is slipping away
like sand through my fingers.

A sapling,
making its way through life,

floating ice cubes
like
islands in my drink.

Children leaving home,
in search of love.

Extinguishing all darkness
The sun gives way
to a new dawn.
