It's Hard to Wreck What Already was Broken
It's not as if this boob who's evidenced
A knack for breaking things presides
Over what wasn't broken. Did
The legislature ever act? Were budgets
Ever made? Were wars declared
Or oil drillers forced to take up
Cleaner trades? Were people who weren't
Male or white routinely given leaders'
Roles? The poor were growing ever
Poorer, turned to servants of the wealthy
Who laid claim to ever more as every
Year went by. The lot of us had lost our
Faith that our decrepit institutions could
Be made to function as the textbooks
Always said they should, and, so, too
Many of us sided with the clumsy boob.
