My first experience with "DEATH"
We lived in Amarillo Texas. One summertime day, I came in from play to find her dead in the bathtub. I was the one that found her and I was devastated. It was my first tangible experience with death. Peanuts unfortunately wasn't fixed and had mated with a bulldog before she was grown enough to successfully bear a litter of pups. My mom had put her there when she realized she was about to give birth. There were 4 little ugly and helpless baby bulldogs. But I still felt sad for them. They were not cute puppies and too big for Peanuts to give birth to. I found them in a pool of her blood. While mom was taking them to the veterinary hospital, we were crying as we canvassed the entire neighborhood with the death announcement of our beloved pet. Our neighbors were very kind in consoling us in our loss. That is the America I knew.
