For my beautiful and intelligent wild-flower of a daughter who continues to amaze and inspire me.
She is sunlight and yellows,
all the warm colors of the earth.
But she is also blue sky,
deep, rich earth,
honoring the weed
as equally as the flower,
the fallen leaves
as respected as the green.
Wisdom guides her,
moving her forward
with steady, grounded strides.
Obstacles are puzzles,
something to turn, to study, to solve,
clearing space for her to keep moving,
onward.
Her strength lies in her resolve:
to be her best,
to do her best,
to never let worry
build walls where doors belong.
Her favorite color, purple,
a blending of red and blue,
of fire and calm,
independence steadied with wisdom,
a spirit born of creativity
and vision.
She is grounded with wings,
grounded in who she is,
her family,
her values.
with a spirit born
to soar.
She knows what
many of us forget:
living requires presence,
each day its own journey,
her journey.
Her journey,
my joy.

Her Colors, My Joy
Her smile reflects her soul. She is sunlight and yellows,
all the warm colors of the earth.
But she is also blue sky,
deep, rich earth,
honoring the weed
as equally as the flower,
the fallen leaves
as respected as the green.
Wisdom guides her,
