Reflections On Long Ago

She gave her all to create a world of light in so much dark

To keep our hearts safe from the beasts that devour with the Night

Not so much more than a child in years, yet an angel in the fight

For the little helpless souls in need of someone with love to be there

When the windows shook and doors would slam with heat and shame

Who came with comfort and soft words calming psychic wounds and scars

Beginning to form on the surface of shaken souls and minds

Her smile and voice were medicine and remedy against a spirit that raged

Years later when we all had aged quite a lot

Will always remember have never forgotten

The illuminated soul that always shone through the harsh mad storm

A touch so gentle a smile always warm even when sad

She gave her all to keep us safe, her secret grief

The burden of saints and seers

Brings me to tears even now years after you departed this earth

Another life to inherit I pray a better place to embrace your worth

Always pray to share in faith for our rebirth
