I wrote this one a while back when someone did for me what I am trying to do for another as grief hangs around forever but might fade into the background for a while.

Your Final Door

My tears are my feelings
That no one else could see
But that might have changed
With your arms around me

A time when I was broken
Feeling helpless to my core
It was then that you caught me
Before I hit the floor

So for this I truly thank you
An action how to repay?
Apart from being on my friends list
Where I’m only a text away

So where will life take me?
Maybe I will do the same
When your heart is breaking
When you’re going through you’re pain

So for now I’ll try to hold you
With these words I write
In the sunshine of the day
And the darkness of the night

Hopefully they will comfort you
Like you did with me before
And give you all the strength
To close your final door.
