This one is about my new partner, Mel, who I took under my wing after she lost her husband, and as I had lost my wife some years before I had an idea what she would be going through.
She has sad eyes
Lost and alone
Forgotten how to smile
Living each day
Same as the day before
Her life has become
like a frame without a door
An empty void
That no one else could see
Questioning herself
How the hell could this be?
Her body was feeling heavy
Each task is ‘what’s the point?’
Finding things to keep her busy
Heart aching like her every joint
But her star was due to arrive
One she would see with the naked eye
Look up to the heavens
At last happiness replacing her cry’s
And my job was to make her smile
The task was in no way an easy one
When it was me that also cried
With the heartache I was suffering from

Her Star
There’s a lady,She has sad eyes
Lost and alone
Forgotten how to smile
Living each day
Same as the day before
Her life has become
like a frame without a door
An empty void
That no one else could see
Questioning herself
How the hell could this be?
Her body was feeling heavy
Each task is ‘what’s the point?’

But her star was due to arrive
One she would see with the naked eye
Look up to the heavens
At last happiness replacing her cry’s
