The Knot

Two people meet by chance,
coincidence that feels like fate,
so they unwind,
vulnerable to breakage,
secrets whispered
in conversations twisting
each past experience
into present understanding.

Their lives begin to tangle,
a knot woven of promises,
old memories restaged
with renewed hope
that this one will hold,
the past giving each rope strength,
two ropes entwined,
one knot,
but two ropes
remain.

One Trick Pony said it for me! I guess there's an undertone in the ending about not letting love steal you yourself? Blessings, Allen

beautiful. I love the slight ambiguity of the end as well.
