When I say that we only live once, but once is enough if you live it well, I don't mean that you complete everything on your bucket list. I don't mean that you rush into your life thinking you have everything done and you're ready for it. I don't mean you rush in with a smile on your face.
I mean, if you take a break every once in a while, you realize the moments that are passing without you realizing, the moments that are ticking away as you sit behind a desk.
If you break the cycle of working yourself into the grave, if you just take a moment and appreciate the small things like the sunset, or your sibling's laughter, or the way that the neighborhood wakes in the morning, the way the dew sits on the grass, once is enough if you live it well.
And that means you need to make time for yourself, whether or not you're planning your future, or just going about life, whether or not you're starting your career or ending, whether or not you're just trying to make it to the next day, or just wanting to get home, once is enough if you live it well, because living it well means you do not regret things that you could have done.
You will always miss things in your life whether or not you want to but living your life well means you are letting go of what is holding you back and understanding that everything you've done has led to this moment.
Once is enough because we are enough.
