Inspired by the photo. It is sort of partly replicating the rhythm of "Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)?'" The 1969 hit by Peter Sarstedt. Ahem... not really a patch on the original lyrics at all!
WHERE HAVE YOU GONE TO (MY LOVELY)?
You lived years in some great splendour
With ballgowns of the finest repute
Your beauty the talk of the town here
But now it has tumbled right down.
Did you leave here in such a great hurry,
Or take your last faltering breath
In this bedroom on the first floor, dear,
That now is a sad sad reminder
And I fear a portent of your death...
Did a long since lover come calling
To sweep you right up off your feet?
Did he drive you to your old love nest
In a bay near Sainte-Marguerite
It's somewhere filmstars feel at home, dear,
Red carpets adorning stone steps, that
Only Louboutin's may prance on?
Does happiness fill you complete?
(Your happiness is all that I ask for...)
Forget that your home is now falling
In disrepair all those mountains away
God give you the hope that it's gone now
That you never need come back again.
Yet here I am feeling suspicions
This disrepair brings to my mind
Wondering was it so bad at the end, dear,
That you left your dress hanging forlorn?
Plus your parasol makes inquisitions...
Of where have you gone to...
My lovely?
