Canada’s MAiD euthanasia program has sunk to new depths of moral depravity. A Quebec physician pushed for assisted suicide for infants under one year old with severe deformities or syndromes, claiming parents “should have the opportunity” to have their newborn killed. Federal committees recommend expanding it to “mature minors,” letting doctors override parents and decide if a child can “consent” to death.

Ontario’s Chief Coroner reports confirm that poverty, loneliness, housing instability, and feeling like a burden drive many Track 2 MAiD deaths among the non-terminal. Vulnerable Canadians get a lethal injection instead of real help.

In a hard-hitting press conference, commentator Jamil Jivani laid it out plainly:

“I want to draw attention to three concerns about the widening scope of euthanasia in Canada. These are not concerns from the fringes, but statements from a member of our Provincial Medical College, recommendations before Parliament and the reality we face right now in Canada. And most Canadians aren’t yet aware of the extent of this horror.”

On infants: “A Member of Quebec’s College of Physicians has formally stated that MAiD may be an appropriate treatment for babies from birth to one year of age who come into the world with severe deformities and very serious syndromes. And that parents should have an opportunity to obtain this care for their infant… This medical practitioner’s proposal goes further. He calls for a calculated killing. These are patients, babies who cannot speak, cannot consent, or ask for help. If we cannot draw the line here, I’m not sure where medical professionals imagine we should.”

On mature minors: “A report by the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying has recommended extending MAiD to children. With parental consent described as optional. A physician, not the child’s parent, would determine whether a child was able to consent to his own death… MAiD advocates showed their true colours and defended the rationale for euthanizing minors without consulting their parents.”

On the vulnerable: “Ontario’s Chief Coroner has documented MAiD deaths driven not by illness but poverty, loneliness and lack of housing. Approximately half those who died by MAiD in 2024 reported requesting it because they felt like a burden to their families, friends or caregivers. These are not necessarily people dying of terminal illness. These are Canadians failed by a system that chose to offer them lethal injection rather than the support and hope they needed to live.”

This is not healthcare. It’s a death cult enabled by years of Liberal-NDP failure that treats human life as disposable. From newborns who can’t speak to the poor and lonely cast aside by a broken system, Canada has become one of the most dangerous places for the vulnerable. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is right to fight this insanity. The rest of the country must wake up and stop it before the horror spreads further. Life must be protected, not ended for convenience or cost savings.
