I wrote a line for The Solution as a character before, here's an attempt to take that idea further.
"YOU weren't even invited to this meeting in the first place," said Small Talk, shaking a head in disbelief.
"Eat me!" Cereal responded defiantly, meaning every word of it.
"They finally made a move," Lost Causes’ voice pierced through the bickering. It was futile, of course, but they all heard. Now we progress. "I can sense the lack of Meaning, but there is a point to it which I can't fathom, and not even World seem to have noticed."
Concern briefly waved a gentle hand. Had it been in any other context it would have meant nothing, but we’re not quite there yet. “Surely, that’s not the work of THEIR kind?”
“Absolutely not!” Certainty blurted out, totally forgetting about Due Process.
“I’ve heard that before”, said Denial, nudged on by Enthusiasm.
“I don’t think there’s much point in us reacting,” Lost Causes continued. “Time will tell, eventually.”
“Wasn’t that a bit insincere?” Denial asked. Quite in their right actually, if you ask me.
“I don’t know, but I’m most disappointed”, Resolution replied.
“For the love of all that’s important, you’re really not giving me much to work with, are you?” I inquired, but the room was already empty.
The meeting amounted to Nothing, and that was always the point of it.
