day and night

the wren's nest building

the second nesting of spring

is heartening and the wren's bold song

is heartening

rabbit nibbles dianthus petals

as quickly as they bloom

causes me to sigh

but what is my little sigh

compared to little bunny's tummy

the sun is low behind the overcast

night is near

with all the accompanying sights and sounds

dreams to come

the sights become batish   the sounds become owlish

Not only a delightful poem but “rabbit nibbles dianthus petals” is one of the best lines I’ve read all year and I’ve read a 100 books so far this year.
