PIPPI TRASLATED BY ANN WOOD
Pippi, when did you grow up!?Pippi, I decided to write you a letter,
to ask you: "When did you grow up too!?..
When did your childhood freckles go away, like everyone else's?!
When did you get bored with your boring aunt
and even cut off your two braids!?
When did your hair turn white,
and it was like a fire that was smoking!?
When did the dimple disappear from your smile,
along with your favorite long stocking!?
(you even took a pill against growing up!)
When was the last time you raised your horse
and winked at your mother upstairs!?
Since when have you not seen and heard
what is happening with Villa Villekulla?!
Since when, instead of being brave, did you panic
and forget where Tom and Annika live?
How come and since when did you stop
waiting for your father - the captain!?...
... Hey, Pippi, why did you have to, tell me,
stop telling funny lies?!
Why did you have to get up lady,
so you were bigger when you were little!
It was no coincidence that you had superpowers,
because you were childishly kind
and you could, at times, outside the plan,
remain a child forever in the novel!"
