I met this fine lady, Rhianna. Saw her at several venues and spoke with her each time. I first met her at a Cultural Arts Festival the community was sponsoring downtown and very near my school in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, where I worked for the public school system teaching elementary art. Despite advocacy and giving it a lot of PR, not a single one of the black families and students I taught showed up. It gave Rhiannon and I more time to discuss her music and promoting those things that are truly in their musical heritage. Sadly, many black peeps are corrupted on junk music filled with repetitions rhythmic filth. They don't know their real authentic roots in Americana and the music they brought. They prefer to celebrate fabricated holidays like "Kwanza" and other lies instead. She is an activist for music and human rights in her own way
I respect and understand her decision not to play at The Kennedy Center. I don't get worked up over these things and I think Trump’s Ego is huge, as are so many others in his "league". People do not understand or know what I think and believe. Guess what? Don't feel sorry for me. I feel sorry for you- the ones out there in poetry land that like to judge and stereotype people or situations that they do not know and believe their assumptions. I don't like politicians and pussy-grabbing men. None of them can be trusted. But I sure love music and this woman is awesome in many many ways... so, back to "The Cuckoo Song". It is one of my folk song favorites. I love it so much that I research for cover songs and compare the individual bands or solo artists performances. I enjoy them all- same song- all uniquely sung and played.

Folks great and small have played this song. And yes, I loved Bob Dylan. I blared his music driving around East Carolina University's campus in my 1968 white Chevrolet Convertible Malibu at 19 years old. Here's Bob's:

And the last sampling, perhaps my favorite, are these two children's version
I like the spirit and harmony of it.

Incidentally, our daughter [until recently] also worked at The Pisgah Banjo Company. She was their office manager and in charge of sales and shipping. They build quality banjos and ship all around the world.

These are my diary notes. They will be even more valuable to me should I lose my mind.
