Our annual beach picnic BY ANN WOOD

Picnic on the beach!
On the penultimate Saturday of June every year, our church organizes a picnic on the beach. We gather at seven thirty in the church yard, from where two buses pick us up and we set off on a two-hour journey to the seaside of BOURNEMOUTH. The day was sunny, even hot. We left at nine in the morning, the buses, exactly one of them was late. And by the time we loaded it and everyone got on and found a place to sit, time flies. But as I said, we left at nine, in a good mood, jokes and songs. Before we left, we prayed that God would protect and keep us during the journey and the picnic itself. Halfway through the road we took a short break to freshen up and go through the toilet. We took another photo for memory, bought another souvenir, and everyone what they needed. I personally took another bottle of cold water and an iced coffee, and something to take on the way. We reached the town where the beach in question is located, it was around noon. We unloaded our luggage and headed to the beach. There were a lot of people, but we found a beautiful place and set up camp. The kids couldn't wait to change and get into the sea. I found a quiet spot and laid out my beach towel, made myself comfortable, got out my radio and a book to read, and enjoyed the nice weather. I made two videos for my followers, talked on the phone with friends from Bulgaria. I opened a cold coffee and started reading my book, and at the same time, I listened to music on the radio. Around two o'clock we gathered and had lunch. While we were eating, we told each other jokes and stories from other such picnics. The kids played with a ball, others built sandcastles, and the older ones went back to swim in the sea. Some of them were riding their surfboards. There was also a swimming event on the beach itself and there was DJ. There was also a show with parachutists and hang gliders. A dance procession also passed along the street next to the beach itself. Everything was very nice and everyone was happy and satisfied. On the beach and around it there were many fast food places, and small restaurants, ice cream and corn stands. The beach also has electric barbecues, and after six in the evening you can have a barbecue on charcoal. On the square next to the beach there is also a Ferris wheel from where you can see the city from above. There is also a market where you can buy fruit or souvenirs.
I was enjoying a good book, drinking juice and listening to music. At six o'clock we started to pack up the camp and luggage and slowly walk to the buses. We left at seven o'clock because a few people had gotten lost. On the way back, the driver decided not to take a break because of the delay. The journey was filled with games and songs as always. Luckily, there wasn’t much traffic and we were in Slough by nine. We unloaded the buses and everyone left. At half past nine I got home, tired from the long day, but happy.
I went in to take a shower and ran the washing machine to wash my beach clothes. I had a quick dinner and went to bed to watch TV. I couldn’t sleep much because I was pretty tired, although I did put on SPF 50 sunscreen on the way. That’s how my Saturday day went, with friends on a picnic on the beach. Soon we will have a barbecue picnic in the yard of our church. That was it, the story of our annual beach picnic. See you soon, dear readers.
