🎻The words, how they flow so like a stream, so like a string o'er a gypsy violin.
~Philip de Pinto

Beguiled

The relationship

kindled a kiss extinguished

by our rationale

as fulfilling as

a fungicide fermenting

the love hidden

inside our hearts.

I brought this back out of the woodpile. This person and I were dating during a time of separation (with intent to divorce) from my husband. He took me out dancing, gave me flowers and we had several dates. What factored in negatively eventually was he was one of the last Goldsboro hippyfied holdouts still pushing their "Heartmath" that I rejected and still rejected. On the last of our many dates, we started kissing and in just a few minutes, he told me he needed to lie down and pulled out his heartmath monitoring gadget to practice the techniques to calm himself down. And that was our last date and inspiration for this poem.
