I WISH YOU BY ANN WOOD
I wish you, my boy...You are a joy to me, child,
A warm sun in an icy winter,
A piece of eternity from my heart
And a support in my soul, rhyme.
I am a solid rock for you,
From which you break off your strength,
A sprig of love and a warm hand,
In which I have hidden hope.
I wish you blue dreams,
A golden roar and a purple sunset,
And whatever your heart decides,
Do it - because it is right.
I wish you a bright fate,
To stand by your truth,
In health, strength and in many summers,
To create, to burn and to give.
I wish you, son, love,
Only with it will you be successful,
I ask God for a ray of blessing,
To protect you - even if you are sinful.
