Recipe for happiness BY ANN WOOD

Recipe for happiness
(To my goddaughter)

Be good. Be sensible, daughter.
And keep the sparkle in your eyes.
When they insult you, do not retaliate.
When they curse you, bless you.

Do not strive for pride and fame.
Joy is in small things.
Life often takes. But it gives
a good lesson in return.

You will fall and get up many times.
Do not be afraid. Fear is a bad companion.
Both grief and anxiety will occur,
but you accept everything as a gift.

Hold your head high.
Do not be influenced by people's gossip.
Friends, do not judge harshly.
Even if they offend you, forgive them.

Life is insanely short, daughter.
Do not waste it in hatred and anger.
Love! Love will return to you.
And your world will become more beautiful...
