The pineapple
A mashup of fruit and vegetable-reversed is its own order
understood only by inverted gaze.
What flowers from within
is short-lived succulence
of a dying heart
proving taste is not the touchstone of truth-
it is sugary today
sour tomorrow
and sweet decay the day after.
What is eternal is external,
a retrofit of orderly mess-
eight spirals climbing
thirteen descending
to solve
the oldest mathematical riddle-
three hundred and thirty degrees,
carved by cosmic mind
on an evanescent rind.
