The ultra-rich just don't inspire the same way anymore...

A Hollywood star
used to make millions of people dream.
Maybe part of what made someone a star
was exactly that ability
to make millions of fans dream.

When it comes to the ultra-rich, I think
there's this mix of hatred and admiration.
We resent them, sure -
but we also wouldn't exactly mind
being in their shoes.
It all looks so easy.

This has a casual, honest tone that works. The observation that people both resent and envy the ultra-rich is not new, but the way you frame it as a loss of inspiration makes it feel more personal. The comparison to old Hollywood stars is a nice touch. Stars used to make people dream, while billionaires mostly make people feel tired. The piece is more of a musing than a shaped poem though. It ends right as the idea starts to sharpen. A little more on what was lost, or one specific image of that old kind of glamour, would give the thought more weight. Still, the voice is clear.

I think it is because of modern social media. We learn all the minute details about the "stars" and realize they are just like us. With money and fame of course.
